Move to make "Geordie English" its own category instead of including the dialect under "English" edit
Because, looking at any of the words in this list, I don't think any English speaker would consider this even a dialect of their language... I mean, look at the page for "made". A noun meaning maggots? Come on. Middle and Old English have their own categories, as do all the dialects of, say, Papuan languages. Dr!ppy (talk) 16:53, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

This category contains words and terms in the Geordie dialect. The term Geordie itself is widely considered to pertain to Tyneside, Northumberland and Durham.
The term does not apply to Teesside (see Category:Teesside English} and Wearside (see Category:Wearside English - the Sunderland locale).
Terms that are perculiar to Tyneside, Northumberland or Durham will be labelled as such within the individual articles.
Common Northeastern dialect will be categorised under Category:Northumbrian English.
