2013, "Hot & Hotter", The Telegraph (Calcutta, India), 19 July 2013:
A year ago, we introduced you to the not-so-well-known Benedict Cumberbatch and what made him the hottest star. On his 37th birthday, here’s a look at why we are just a little crazier about the man who became famous playing Sherlock, how the Cumbercollective is expanding every day and how 2013 promises to be a Cumberfest!
PS: Mea culpa from me to the CumberCollective. Friday July 19 was the Cumber Birthday, and I surely meant to mark the occasion here on the Cine Files blog, because I’m a fan myself (can you tell?) but I was all caught up in the Fantasia Film Festival so I sort of forgot. Oooops! Sorry! Sorry!
CumberCollective alert: Benedict Cumberbatch, who seems to be working (and excelling) nonstop these days, joked he apparently had 10 days off in the summer and they went by in a bit of a blur. But then he quotes that line about how "a change is as good as a rest."
2013, Emma McClatchley, "Becoming EnCumbered", The Daily Iowan (University of Iowa), 7 November 2013, page 2B:
I am not the first to join the “Cumbercollective” (an identifier suggested by Cumberbatch to replace the popularized phrase “Cumberbitches”), and I don’t expect to be the last.
“Honestly, we would be happy with a weekly promotional still of Sherlock Holmes sleeping in the nude,” social media specialist and CumberCollective member Lorena Martins professed.
