Disney point (plural Disney points)

  1. The act of pointing with the index and middle finger, used by staff at Walt Disney resorts when giving directions.
    • 2004, Rocco M. Angelo, Andrew Vladimir, Hospitality Today: An Introduction, Educational Institute of American Hotel & Motel Association:
Cast members are taught to use the “Disney point” when giving directions; the “Disney point” involves the entire palm or two fingers - never a single finger, which is considered rude!
    • 2012, Ross Perlin, Intern Nation: How to Earn Nothing and Learn Little in the Brave New Economy, Verso Books, →ISBN, page 21:
Don't point with your index finger, either: use “the Disney point,” a reassuring two-fingered gesture (index plus middle finger, if you're wondering).
    • 2016, James D. Walsh, Playing Against the House: The Dramatic World of an Undercover Union Organizer, Simon and Schuster, →ISBN:
Cast members use the “Disney point” (a minimum of two fingers) to direct guests.
