Etymology edit
Borrowed from Ukrainian Енергода́р (Enerhodár) Literally, “energy's gift”. From Ukrainian енергія (enerhija, “energy”) and дар (dar, “gift”). From being a settlement built to support workers building and operating the co-located Zaporizhzhia thermal power station, later also the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant; for the city of Zaporizhzhia, and thence Southeast Ukraine and Crimea.
