Etymology edit

From Medieval Latin Ermeroti, a genitive form of the personal name Ermerote, from a Suevic or Gothic personal name, from a compound of Proto-Germanic *ermunaz (whole) and *hrōþiz (fame, glory).[1] Toponyms with the same etymon include Ermelode, name of an uninhabited place in Moraña, Pontevedra.
