DescriptionCauseway and seaweed - geograph.org.uk - 1432262.jpg
English: Causeway and seaweed Many of the lanes reaching around the farmed fringes of the coast run close to the tide mark, and have short causeways or bridges over longer tidal inlets such as this one. The shallow water and sheltered conditions are highly conducive to a rich crop of seaweed, so there is often a thick mat of detached fronds floating at high tide, which has just passed at the time of this image. Turbulence in the water flowing through the porous stonework of the causeway can also be seen in the image.
