Ersu_word_for_star.png(39 × 29 pixels, file size: 611 bytes, MIME type: image/png)

Summary

Description
English: This is one way of transcribing the Ersu word for 'star', [tʂɿ˥], which can also be transcribed wikt:ʈɽź̩. The image shows the pseudo-IPA character (used in by scholars of Sino-Tibetan languages) "Long-Leg Turned Iota"; the other characters present demonstrate how the iota's descender goes below the baseline; the symbol is encoded in Unicode as ɿ (File:IPA Unicode 0x027F.svg), but lacks that characteristic descender in some fonts. In Category:Ersu Shaba script, 'star' is represented as a circle; see the aforementioned Wiktionary entry.
