Notes powder horn with metal fittings. crescent moon and crown engraved on metal cap. Previously recorded as "possibly from Turkey". However, the crescent moon and crown was also used as a national mark by Germany and this horn may have been collected in German Samoa. The donor John Carlaw, served in German Samoa as part of the Samoa Advance Party (as 65946 Private John Carlaw) and the powder horn may have been collected at that time.
