Gilgit

1. The capital of Gilgit-Baltistan administrative region of Pakistan, situated near Karakoram Highway (KKH).

   Gilgit is one of the two important hubs for mountaineering expeditions to the peaks in the Karakoram range. The other hub is Skardu.

2. One of the ten districts of the Gilgit-Baltistan administrative region of Pakistan.
