Possibly Kiikka + -oinen (because people from Kiikka may have been early settlers), or more directly from the name of the nearby rapids Kiikoiskoski, which may be from kiikottaa (“to talk loudly, holler”) or kiikuttaa (“to rock, sway”).[1]
