Etymology edit

Argyll form of Lachlann, from Middle Irish Lochlann, a folk etymology (equivalent to loch (loch) +‎ -lann (place of)) of Old Irish Lothlind, a name with disputed origins. Perhaps altered by analogy with Eachann.
