Meskus
Finnish
editEtymology
editOriginally from farm names in North Ostrobothnia.[1] One possibility is a dialectal mesku (“arctic raspberry”) (a kind of diminutive from mesi; compare mesimarja), which may have motivated a farm name in an area with many arctic raspberry bushes. The -s may be from -nen (oblique stem -s(e)-).
