editFrom *jāmah (“leading”) + 𐎠𐎿𐎱 (a-s-p /*aspaʰ/, “horse”). Cognate with Avestan 𐬘𐬁𐬨𐬁𐬯𐬞𐬀 (Jāmāspa) and Parthian 𐭆𐭀𐭌𐭀𐭎𐭐 (zʾmʾsp /Jāmāsp/).[1][2]
