Reconstruction:Proto-Balto-Slavic/sjúnsti
Proto-Balto-Slavic
editEtymology
editUnknown. Suggested to be from Proto-Indo-European *sent- (“to go”), whence Proto-Germanic *sandijaną (“to send”), through a contaminated alternating paradigm, *sint- ~ *sunt-,[1] though this is rather ad hoc. One might instead perhaps expect Proto-Indo-European *syu-né-t-ti ~ *syu-n-t-énti, from root *syewt-, however this has no cognates.
Verb
edit*sjúnsti
