It's not really an instance of *w- becoming *g-; rather over the course of the Old Brythonic languages, *gw- tends to delabialize before rounded vowels. *Gwodọðin is very likely the proper reconstruction. Anglom (talk) 21:52, 25 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
