This is probably actually derived from the lost verb *feraną, being an oxytonic o-grade ō-stem, similar to *laidō, *raidō. The equivalent formation derived from *faraną would be *fōrō (a going, setting out, journey), where the lengthened grade acts as a secondary o-grade. Anglom (talk) 16:35, 4 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
