I've been trying to work out the forms for the size adjectives. The original forms would probably have been *mikilaz, *midjaz and *lūt-. Presumably *mikilaz influenced the creation of *midilaz and *lūtilaz (if not the original form), while *midjaz influenced the creation of *mikjaz and *lūtijaz. In light of this, it's not unlikely that *lūtilaz was changed to *lītilaz in some dialects to bring it closer phonologically to the first two. Anglom (talk) 01:20, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
