Is this /we/ really Proto-Japonic?

It seems this is only attested in the Ryukyuan branch, and not in the Japanese branch. This makes it difficult to accept as Proto-Japonic, rather than specific to Proto-Ryukyuan.

What chance that this represents a Proto-Ryukyuan innovation, perhaps as a vowel-shifted version of Proto-Japonic /wo/? ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │^{Tala við mig} 22:34, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
