This does not have to be a borrowing. Polish has generalized the form -owy after palatals by analogy, cf. wiśniowy, bojowy. The sequence *jo certainly did not exist in Proto-Slavic, so there is little ambiguity here. 109.184.37.138 23:57, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
