astrophysical galaxies edit

There is no conception of galaxies in Antiquity -- the Milky Way is a night sky phenomenon, while the Milky Way Galaxy is the galaxy that contains that phenomenon. The sense that uses "galaxy" is therefore wrong, since it refers to the existence of galaxies, which did not exist as a concept until Ancient Greek was no longer a living language. -- 64.229.90.53 03:28, 27 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

I think it's fine ..... galaxies existed back then, even if people don't know it. What they were looking at is the same thing we call the Milky Way Galaxy today. What would be wrong is if we listed the definition as just "galaxy", as we do with modern Greek. But I think the ancient Greek definition is worded correctly as it is now.
