Can this also refer to the drum beat "baladi"? 21:14, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

I think you might be thinking of طبل بلدي, which is a two-headed folk drum. The بلدي part means folk. I don’t know of a meaning like drum beat for بلدي. —Stephen 21:50, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Baladi is the most commonly used Arabic iqa', similar to maqsum, and found on a ubiquitous basis in most Arabic popular, classical, and folk music. There is a Wikipedia page about this beat: 04:28, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
