Etymology

The speculation that this is /-ar-/ + /-ion/ is almost certainly correct; evidence that /-ar-/ is an independent affix can be seen in that it also occurs in the double diminutive /-aridion/. (e.g. biblaridion). In fact, it seems the affixes could trade places: there is attestation of both βιβλιδάριον and βιβλαρίδιον as well as other forms. —Soap— 02:19, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
