rfv sense: a type of legal filing. On g.b.c., such filings are capitalized only when part of a title. (I only searched for the plural form to avoid the 4600 hits on the word "information".) I have added and amended the (countable) sense to information. DCDuring 20:42, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- I searched for "file an information" on Google Books - almost all of the 910 hits returned are lowercase. This is most definitely a legal term, defined in Black's Law 6th as "An accusation exhibited against a person for some criminal offense, without an indictment". However, even Black's uses the lowercase when it goes on to discuss the history and function of an information. bd2412 T 02:16, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
