- Wikis aren't authoritative. LPSN italicizes. I had read somewhere that the norm for prokaryotes is italics, as it is for viruses, but not protists and chromists AFAICT, let alone animals, plants, and fungi. DCDuring (talk) 19:37, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
