Talk:Pessinus

The usual etymology is from Greek pessos (πεσσός), rock, but this word is missing appropriate etymology, suggesting that it may be pre-greek and namely semitic. I suggest that the name of Pessinus (the city of the black stone of Cybele) may come from the Hebrew place-name Bethtsur (Strong's 1049), attested in many places in Palestine, which means "house of the rock".
