Talk:President's Daily Briefing

Should this be a dictionary entry?

Idioms and the like I could understand being defined, but "President's Daily Briefing" is sort of a sensible statement that can be easily reduced to smaller semantical units, i.e. the statement is self-defining if you know what the individual words mean. I'm not an etymologist, but if we allow things like the above to qualify as a legitimate dictionary entry, what's next? "George's Favorite Color?"

If it's a proper noun, it probably belongs (I mean, if that's what it's officially called) but otherwise, I agree. But then, I tried to make the same point for communal understanding, so... —Muke Tever 20:01, 10 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I think this case is different. The PDB has a particular origin (the CIA), so this is at least idiomatic in that the CIA origin is left implicit and cannot be divined from the component parts. This in turn causes the term to be used with particular, non-obvious connotations. -dmh 21:50, 14 Jan 2005 (UTC)
