editI have created this entry by translating the entry from German Wikipedia, omitting the adjective unsystematic, on the assumption that it is already implied in unordered. An improvement by a German native speaker or whoever is in the know is welcome.

Etymology
editThe German Wikipedia article says that the word is derived from "sammelsur", used in 18. century, which roughly meant "disgusting vegetable mix". --Daniel Polansky 17:21, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
