I read somewhere, possibly Wikipedia, that this word means "all-sensitive", patterned like ófnaemi, the word for allergy. It makes sense to me. But I cant be absolutely sure without an explanation for why the /l/ de-geminates. For convenience, here is what I was going to add to the etymology section:
