Middle French, from Old Provençal ambayssada

Just as a point of interest, in terms of attestation FEW has Middle French ambaxade as circa 1360 and Old Provençal ambayssada as circa 1380. The next page does mention the Italian as "since the 14th century". PS that thing is horrible to read, caveat lector. Renard Migrant (talk) 12:32, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
