The original def said one says something after doing something wrong to somebody one feels sorry for. Not necessarily true. Many an apology has been voiced by people (pollies in particular) who regret saying something because it has embarrassed them, but they are not the slightest bit sorry for the person they wronged. I agree, "regret" is a good way of putting it. Often an apology is given when the miscreant regrets getting caught, as opposed to when he regrets the offending act. But when you edited the page, you somehow replaced all the Japanese and Korean characters with question marks. You might want to check your browser/editor settings and make sure they're capable of handling non-ASCII characters. -- Ortonmc 03:18, 7 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Hi Valid, could you tell us what version of Windows and what version of internet explorer you are using? Maybe they are too old. You can either upgrade to Internet Explorer 6 or you can really go forward and download Mozilla from mozilla.org and install that. Hey Poly. Windoze? No way. I'm using Mac OS 9. I was using Mozilla but found it a little slower so have gone back to IE6. I can't see from the edit history where I actually changed anything. (POV is ok in comments here, I think). ValidUserName 22:10, 8 Feb 2004 (UTC)
