Etymology

Note that even the OED entry gets this wrong, claiming it as a 19th century derivation within English. Archdiocesis had been in use in Latin since at least the 1600s. Added an 'ultimately' since the direct borrowing may have been via French. — LlywelynII 00:36, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
