Badly is sometimes used after feel in its copulative sense where one might expect an adjective edit
it's the adjective badly the one that is used (see usage https://www.wordreference.com/definition/bad) --Backinstadiums (talk) 13:31, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
more/most badly edit
According to Collins English Usage,
Badly has another different meaning. If you need or want something badly, you need or want it very much: I am badly in need of advice; I want this job so badly; We badly need the money. For this meaning, don't use the comparative and superlative forms ‘worse’ and ‘worst’. Instead you use the forms more/most badly.
Adjective edit
1. in ill health; sick: He felt badly. 2. sorry; regretful: I feel badly about your reaction to my remark. 3. dejected; downcast. --Backinstadiums (talk) 18:39, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
