This phrase with the word "flogging" is unheard of in the U.S., but the word "flogging" itself is not.
However, has anyone actually (at least, in a situation other than when they're trying to be funny) used "flogging a deceased equine"?  It looks to me as if someone simply ran "flogging a dead horse" through some thesaurus program and came up with a new phrase they thought sounded cool. — V-ball 21:04, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
