Does any one know the orgin of this word? I know that it first appeared around the 1610's. If you know anythin, please help. Thanks.
Shouldn't it be "Belated Happy Birthday!" ? I refer to this forum discussion: http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=982819
- The forum itself cites google frequency which very heavily favors "Happy Belated Birthday". This usage parallels unobjectionable usages such as "Happy Fiftieth Birthday". (You wouldn't say "Fiftieth Happy Birthday" except in bizarre circumstance.) Either form can almost always be used interchangeably without ambiguity. DCDuring TALK 10:41, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
