I beseech students of philosophy to rewrite this page.
The definition for conative as it is presented here was an attempt by the Kolbe Institute to legitimize their definition of "conative" to sell personality indices. Kolbe asserts that "conative" is a pillar of human psychology alongside the widely-recognized and peer-reviewed "cognitive" and "affective", despite the word "conative" only appearing in psychology journals a few times in the 1980's. They mislead and swindle individuals and corporations alike by creating entries online for their definition of the term, then monopolizing the inventories that measure it.

Rather than nominating this page for deletion, I suggest that the definition be replaced with the one currently in use in the field of philosophy.
