In one source "każa" is related to the root كوز, but with rare senses of this latter. The related words in Maltese are all Romance-looking (including the verb "tkaża", which conjugates with the a-vocalism typical of recent and Romance verbs), but that need not mean much because they could simply be late derivations from the noun. Nevertheless my guess is that it's from Italian "casa" in the sense of "brothel"; compare how the Italians say "che casino!" (what a chaos!).
