Not a native speaker myself: I heard someone say "I didn't know what I was in store for", where I would expect "I didn't know what was in store for me." Is the first-mentioned version a) usual, b) nonstandard but heard in practice, c) a mere slip of the tongue? Thanks. 178.4.151.5 00:52, 4 October 2021 (UTC)

I feel it is a mistake. But it is an easy one to make because in store is an idiom that, in the minds of many speakers, has lost its metaphorical connection with its literal meaning. DCDuring (talk) 03:20, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
