Interesting. So somebody in proto-Slavic times knew the Germanic word for "king" and thought that the Germanic word for "rabbit" was a diminutive of it, and therefore translated the word for rabbit into proto-Slavic as "little king", when in fact there is no connection at all. Folk etymologies are common for unfamiliar objects, as rabbits apparently were to northern Europeans at the time, but this is the only example I know of where a folk etymology has survived a translation.
