The pronunciation "mah-sheh-ti" has become widespread in native English-speaking cultures. It is correctly pronounced as "ma-sheh-teh" in Spanish, the language where the word originated.

Etymology edit

Wouldn't it be more likely this derived from Latin machera ("sword") (cognate with Greek μάχαιρα and Anglo-Saxon mece) than from Macho? Jade Knight 05:49, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Krio (kri) translation edit

  • I could not add the translation, Wiktionary gave me the error message: "Could not find translation entry for 'kri:kohtlas'. Please reformat". If someone could add kohtlas under kri that would be great, thanks. Xtgyal 16:16, 23 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
