Does anyone know how old the expression "on the back of" meaning "shortly after" is? I hear it a lot these days and I'm wondering whether it's always been around. Or, if not, for how long. I've searched it on Google Books for the 19th century and couldn't find anything that wasn't literally "on the back/rear/reverse of". 90.186.83.254 22:11, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
