I think paroemia is a more technical and inclusive word than proverb and should be better defined: it may include all kinds of short, witty remarks, such as slogans, mottoes, epitaphs, etc. Translations should not refer to proverb either; there are more exact translations, such as es:paremia in Spanish or parèmia in catalan. --Edgefield (talk) 09:02, 14 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

If that is how it is actually used, take a crack at it. But some folks use it strictly referring to proverbs. Start with a separate definition for the broader sense.
