Etymology

Greetings,

Someone else should do the etymology for this word. I don't know how to use the etymology macros. The word comes from Greek systemat- (s. of sýstema) SYSTEM + -O- + -LOGY. However, I do not know how to express this using the macros for Wiktionary.

However, I have at least given this word a start and a pronunciation. Someone else can take it from here, or else teach me how to finish it off.

I suspect that the word was assembled in Germany from Latin and Greek components before being bought into English. I'm not sure that this is particularly important to its etymology, but it fits the dates and the flow of influence in the sciences. The first English publications using the term seem to have been American c 1820. DCDuring TALK 01:58, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Audio File

Missing audio file: I created an audio file (En-us-systematology.ogg), but it is not linking to the page for some reason? I did this before for deniability but apparently cannot remember how to correctly link the file in now.

Ideas?
