Talk:thematization

I'm confused by the first definition. What does it mean to make something the "topic of interaction"? Is this presuming the linguistics context of a particular conversation? And I take it that not only experiences or emotions, but more abstract ideas can be thematized as well. For these reasons I'm changing to: "The act of making an experience, idea or emotion into a main topic or theme." Furthermore, I'm not seeing how the first and second definitions are meant as distinct, but I'll leave the second there for the time being.
