What is this nonsense about "Mary, mother of Jesus"?? The context is the Salve Regina, thus Christianity, Catholic or Western Christianity specifically, and "Mary, mother of Jesus" is a term that is unusual within that culture. And it doesn't have to be "Mother of God" or "Holy Virgin", but "Virgin Mary" is a generally accepted term, which--incidentally--is a also used by Muslims. (So very PC, if that's the point.) Calling her by accepted designation doesn't imply any bias, just as we may speak of the "Prophet Muhammad", or the Shiite "Imam Mahdi" or the Jewish "Messiah", simply because that's what they are usually called. 92.218.236.35 03:17, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Essentially it is the name of the article at the English Wikipedia, but your point about the Roman Catholic context is taken. — SGconlaw (talk) 04:32, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
