This template may be used in "References" and "Further reading" sections, and on talk pages, to cite the Free On-line Dictionary of Computing.

|1= (first unnamed parameter) or |entry= – the entry in Free On-line Dictionary of Computing. If this is not specified, the name of the Wiktionary entry is used.
|2= (second unnamed parameter) or |accessdate= – the date when the Free On-line Dictionary of Computing entry was accessed.
|3= (third unnamed parameter) or |passage= – a passage quoted from the Free On-line Dictionary of Computing.
|4= (fourth unnamed parameter) or |date= – the date of the entry when known, which could be a full date or only a year. If no date is specified, the template indicates "1985–", the year in which Denis Howe claims copyright began.
