Usage edit

This template may be used in "References" and "Further reading" sections, and on talk pages, to cite Richard James Wilkinson's A Malay–English Dictionary (1901). It can be used to create a link to an online version of the work at the Internet Archive.

Parameters edit

  • |1= or |entry= – the name of the entry cited. If this parameter is not stated, the name of the Wiktionary entry is used.
  • |2= or |page=, or |pages=mandatory in some cases: the page number(s) cited. When citing a range of pages, note the following:
    • Separate the first and last pages of the range with an en dash, like this: |pages=110–111.
    • You must also use |pageref= to specify the page number that the template should link to (usually the page on which the Wiktionary entry appears).
You must specify this information to have the template create an automatic link to the online version of the work.
  • |column= or |columns= – the column number(s) cited, either |column=1 or |column=2. When citing both columns, separate the two column numbers with an en dash.
  • |3= or |passage= – a passage cited from the work.
  • |nodot= – by default, the template adds a full stop (period) at the end of the citation. To suppress this punctuation, use |nodot=1 or |nodot=yes.
