Usage edit
This template formats the headword in bold and category for Mandarin pinyin entries. It is to be used only for Mandarin pinyin, never for other Sinitic languages, and never for Chinese characters. It takes one optional parameter, and categorizes in Category:Hanyu Pinyin when used in the main namespace ({{NS:0}}). It should be used under the ===Romanization=== header.
If the pinyin entries are in number format like yin1, yang2, they are also categorized in Category:Hanyu Pinyin with tone numbers.
If the parameter notr=1 is used, no Zhuyin transcription will be generated. This is necessary if using the template for nonstandard spellings.
Note that not every pinyin combination (consonants, vowels and tones) are actually used or stated in sources.
