Usage

This template is for use with terms whose meaning is uncertain (as is common with barely attested ancient languages.) It adds the page to Category:Language terms with uncertain meaning. The possible meanings should follow as subsenses.

Parameters

|1=: the language code.
|nohypothesis=1 or |nh=1: when no credible hypothetical meaning has been suggested, and thus there are no subsenses. This omits the text Possibilities include:.
|undetailed=1: when the general meaning is deductible due to the context that the word appears in (e.g.: "an animal", "a herb") but further details are disputed. The general meaning should be placed immediately preceding the template, on the same definition line.
|nocat=1: prevents the page from being added to Category:Language terms with uncertain meaning.
