Use this template to show hieroglyphs in Egyptian text that aren’t supported by WikiHiero.

Note: if the hieroglyphic text containing this template is on multiple lines, the line containing this template should be separated out by adding </hiero><br><hiero> at the line’s beginning and end; don’t use the WikiHiero line separator !.

Parameters

edit
|1=
The Gardiner or Hieroglyphica code of the missing sign, if it’s a single unstacked glyph.
|h=
The height, in pixels, that the missing sign should be rendered with. Filling this in is optional; the default is 38px, the height of a full line of WikiHiero text. For hieroglyphs that aren’t full height, a good scaling factor is 41% of the original image height, although occasionally other sizes may be more appropriate.
|m=
Set to any value (conventionally 1 should be used) to mirror the sign horizontally.
|quad=
If the missing sign is part of a more complex quadrat, this can be filled with all the code needed to represent the quadrat properly, generally using {{egy-glyph-img}} with the glyph code. In this case do not fill in parameter {{{1}}}. Some examples:
  • quad={{egy-glyph-img|S116}} is equivalent to 1=S116.
  • quad=<hiero>z</hiero><br>{{egy-glyph-img|O24A|h=20}} is a way to represent the equivalent of Manuel de Codage z:O24A.
  • quad=<hiero>z</hiero><br><hiero>t</hiero> {{egy-glyph-img|O24A|h=20}} is a way to represent the equivalent of Manuel de Codage z:t*O24A.
