I'm not sure if there's any point in having a word for purple here, Mongolian doesn't seem to recognize it as a concept at all. I've seen it translated as ягаан (jagaan, “violet, pink”), хөх ягаан (xöx jagaan, “blue-violet”), бор (bor, “brown”), бор улаан (bor ulaan, “brown red”) or час улаан (čas ulaan), цусан улаан (cusan ulaan, “blood red”). None of these describe even a satisfactorily small neighbourhood of purple.
